Evening :D

I know. It’s nearly midnight and I’m not in bed… Though by the time I post this it’ll be well past midnight. Well, can’t sleep. That shouldn’t come as a surprise…

Anyway, I thought what better way to spend my time than to sit on the computer 😀 (Course I need to clean the kitchen and etc, but who really wants to… especially this late.)

Ok, first things first.

Yup, Inner Strength will be completely FREE on Amazon tomorrow (well today) and Monday! First time ever that it’s been free so better snag a copy! I don’t think it’ll show up free till US pacific time – so like 3 more hours.  Also, remember you don’t need a kindle to read ebooks! (Just go HERE for a list of all of Amazon’s kindle reading apps. Plus, they’re all free!)

Ok, enough promoting 😉 So, today my boyfriend and I went to campus so that I could finally walk around and see where all of my classes will be! They’re all actually pretty easy to get to, and I won’t need to get a parking pass since his job is right across the street from the university! Just means I’ll need to walk a little bit more. (Which I’m actually looking forward to since I feel like it’ll help me a lot.)

Sigh, I never thought that finding a pair of lime green pants would be this difficult. I need it for the cosplay that I’ll be doing at Matsuricon in about 2 weeks! So excited and cannot wait to go! My boyfriend got off really easy with just needing everything to be black. I tried dying a pair of white pants, but that didn’t work…

So the food “experiment” is working pretty well… At least we’re finding out what we don’t like 😉 So, as I mentioned in a couple posts ago we decided to try Japanese food for the first week. We had onigiri, yakisoba, and korokke. All were decent enough. The onigiri and korokke we thought we could experiment more with in flavors and such to get to something we’d enjoy more. The yakisobe was too similar to the stir-fry I already make that it wasn’t really anything special.
We did just finish French week. The french toast was definitely the best I’ve ever had, but the tartiflette was – different – and the steak frites… well the fries were awesome. I also really enjoyed the lemon souffle, though my boyfriend didn’t like it since he doesn’t like lemon flavored desserts.
Now, we are going into Italian week and after that it’ll be German.

Well, I think I’ll close, maybe clean the kitchen :p and possibly be able to fall asleep.

Time for a last minute trip.

Well a last minute trip out of town just came up. Leaving tomorrow morning so need to get packed today and make sure that everything that needs to be taken care of is completed.

My boyfriend had an interview for a possible job last week and now the company wants to do a follow up interview at their headquarters – which also is in his hometown. Now we get to go spend the weekend with his family, which will be nice for him since it’s his birthday tomorrow.

I just don’t feel like trying to pack… and I know I’m forgetting something that needs to be done.

Well, better go since I probably won’t have much time to work on stuff today.

Oh, and don’t forget the giveaway ends in a few days! Better get your entry in if you haven’t! (Really, who wants to turn down a free book 😉 )

Cheers everyone!

Goodmorning! I am finally feeling awake and alive! Which is good. Very good.

So, A couple things. I am running a special discount price on my newest book Befriending a Fairy. You can pick up a copy for only $.99! I’m not going to say how long this promo will last, so better get a copy now 😉

Also, today is the last day – ever –  that you will be able to get a free copy of Soul Thieves! Promo runs out tonight!

What else is new? I did get the 2nd book in The Goldenport Chronicles started it is called Rising From Ashes. I think since I just did so much with BaF I’m more in the mood and mind-set to work on the sequel, so hopefully that shouldn’t take me too long to get completed!
The coloring books have sort of come to a stand still since I became completely uninspired to draw. But I should be picking them up again soon, especially if I pull out some old movies and watch them. I always get in a more creative artsy/craftsy mood when I’m watching a movie.

Also I was browsing Amazon and found some kindle books to review! I’ll try to do a book review every week, either on Thursdays or Fridays. They will be different than my Monday book recommendations because I’ll review a book as either I liked it or hated it or just don’t really care. Recommendations I have to love! But of course.

Alrighty then. I’ve rambled enough. I will go turn on some music and start work on one of my books!

Monday Book Recommendation

Ever since I started pursuing writing as an actual career I’ve found that I have become a lot pickier about the books I read. Either it has to be an author I already know that I like, have it recommended to me by a friend that knows my tastes, or else the book just have to jump out at me and pester me until I decide to buy it or rent it or just somehow get my hands on it.

That last one is what happened with today’s recommendation.

Dying to Forget (The Station) by Trish Marie Dawson.

I saw the book, I read the blurb, I thought that I might like it but I just wasn’t sure. I kept thinking about getting it, and when something pesters me that much I eventually cave in. I finished the book in less than a day. I could hardly put it down.

Captivating. Interesting. Likable. Original. That’s how I would describe it.

The story is told from the perspective of Piper Willow, an 18 yr. old girl. After committing suicide, she finds herself in a place called the station. There she has to make the decision to become a volunteer and basically go back to earth as the conscience of some other troubled person, or she can opt-out and move on to a hell of her own – forever tormented by her past and pain.

I find it very hard to like the main female characters. There are so very few that don’t annoy me. Piper is very likable and in some ways reminds me of myself.  I was surprised with how much I ended up liking this book. The story keeps your attention and makes you keep reading right to the end. It doesn’t move too quickly that you get lost and don’t know what happens, but it doesn’t move to slowly that you become bored. There is so much vivid descriptions of the people and places that you can feel like you’re there and know them.

I heartily recommend that you get a copy! I don’t think that anyone that reads this will be able to be disappointed in it. I give it a five star rating, and I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!

So go get yourself a copy! (And even better, it’s free today for the Kindle!)

Special free promo today!
